Freezing cold? Step out and run!

A major artic chill is moving across the northern U.S. bringing brutally cold temperatures. Still thinking you don’t want to miss your weekend run? Winter can be a off-putting season for outdoor runners but with a little bit of motivation and some tips you can keep enjoying your trail runs all year round. There are different ways to stay motivated like committing to running with a group or set some races. Once you have paid for a race you know you have to train if you don’t want to suffer. Also snow can add a great challenge and flavor your runs like no summer day can do. There are some basic tips you need to follow on your winter trail runs -choose the trail carefully, stay hydrated,keep away from icy patches- but the key thing is to keep warmth. There are several good articles out there -‘cold doesn’t have to stop runners’, ‘what you need to know about running in cold winter weather’- but the bottom line is to gear up properly -for that the gear junkie has posted some winter gear suggestions- and most critical, layer up with the 3 must-wear layers. keep these rules in mind and… see you out there!
