Now that the winter makes me work-out inside more that I’d like, I take my mp3 with me and listen to music/ebooks/podcasts to make the work-out hours less boring. I was wondering if there might be any specific endurance or trail running podcasts available outline. So I googled a bit and below you have a list of what I found. Actually I thought there would be more content available, but hopefully with outdoor sports slowly going mainstream, more people/businesses will jump into the audio/video creation.
- Trails and Tribulations, a podcast “aimed at ultra runners by ultra runners Kim and Andrew“. Features discussion on races, ultra race reports, interviews with ultra runners and people in the running industry, gear reviews, and all things connected with the ultra community. Some of the latest broadcasted shows: Interview with Brett Blankner, A Rocky Quickie 7 Days til Rocky Raccoon!, ATY Recap with Lynn David Newton
- Zen and the Art of Triathlon, long running podcast focused on triathlon -and lately on trail running. Usually recorded on a bike ride or run, the show host Brett Blanker talks about training, races and gear . Some of the trail running related shows: Night trail run, Commuting Alligators
- EndurancePlanet.com, professional quality audio interviews with endurance athletes and coaches posted daily. Lots of shows posted since 2005 in the archives
- The Final Sprint podcast, interviews with runners, coaches, and running world in general. Some of the latest shows:High School Running Phenom Colby Lowe, 2008 USA Half-Marathon Champion James Carney
- GoFAR, for those more on the adventure side, podcasted interviews with elite adventure racers, climbers, triathletes and runners.
- Running Injury Free, a couple of podcasts with the basics of running injury and pain free.
- And finally McMillan Running.com and Phedippidations, a couple of podcasts for runners.
And then I found some one-shot audios that way be worth checking out: an interview with Club FatAss; an interview Dr John Berardi on strength/endurance training; an interview with elite ultra endurance & trail runner Michelle Barton and a couple of interviews with Dean Karnazes here and here
