I own a Marmot Sharp Point Jacket and here is my over view and review.

    OVERVIEW:
meant intermittent aerobic activity in cold weather: this jacket will not keep you warm unless you are moving.
this jacket is a non-lined shell: there is only enough synthetic material lining to allow for the backing of the pockes. fleece lining
works well for keeping your base layer dry: you perspire, but by the time you stop to rest on your vigorous hike, you are already dry
ample room in arm pockets for sorting head lamps, sun glasses, compass, etc.
side pockets allow for carrying 16oz. water bottle
jacket goes well with dress pants and tie for those semi-formal occasions
makes you look like a secret service agent

    REVIEW:

Marmot makes a good product by making the Sharp Point Jacket. I do not suggest drying the jacket in a dryer: I only did this once after three years. The jacket drys out over night: within five hours at temperatures of 50 degrees Fahrenheit, even.

The vent zippers are very delicate and pull out of their placement within a year. The Velcro straps on the cuffs wear our after about a year and a half. The over all function of the jacket lasts a very long time. I have owned my jacket and wear it on a daily-basis: four years and going: still no holes or ripping.

I highly recommend this jacket, but only if it is on sale. I purchased my jacket for one hundred fifty dollars. Before that, it was three hundred fifty dollars. YIKES!

I think I have a different jacket, now that I come to think of it. My jacket has cargo pockets on the sleeves. On the left sleeve, on that cargo pockets, there are two slots for a pen and pencil that is covered by a flap. Also, you can place Velcro patches like the American-flag patches, for example.

Got something to say?
