Headlands 100 mile Report

I was unfamiliar with the terrain, except for what I had reviewed on the topographical course map. My initial strategy for the first hour of the race was to go as slow as possible without walking. While everyone ran across the sandy beach for a few hundred yards, I walked to conserve energy. I power walked every uphill.
