Pikes Peak 2008 Results

On what was the worst weather in its 52 editions, Teva US Mountain Running Team members took the victory and several other top positions in the Pikes Peak Ascent hill climb. Simon Gutierrez, 42, Alamosa, CO finished the 13+ miles in over 2:18 beating Tim Parr (former Teva team member) by about one minute. For the women, team member Brandy Erholtz beat by 10 minutes Lisa Goldsmith, with a final time of 2:41.
On Sunday, with improved weather conditions, Matt Carpenter, 44, Manitou Spring, CO won the marathon in 3:36:54, over 20 minutes faster than second place Dave J Mackey, 38, Boulder, CO.
