A Trail Running Gear and Shoes Reviews List

There are lots of runners out there posting on the gear they are using and my pending-to-write-about pile is growing to a point I could sit on it and see Karl Meltzer running on the AT (also, a follow up is waiting on this too). So here goes a list of short reviews together with a quote from the author. If you’re interested in the full review, just follow the link to the writer’s site:

La Sportiva Slingshot
La Sportiva Slingshot
“It was not until the first trail running race that I realized what a treasure I had just stumbled upon. There was no heel lift, they fit like a glove. And they weighed nothing.”

Montrail Hardrock
Montrail Hardrock
“These shoes are SOLID!”¦ Like most trail runners, I’ve turned my ankle too many times to count, but the Hardrocks provide a very sturdy feel on the trail.”

Salomon SpeedCross
Salomon SpeedCross
“This shoe is the best of both worlds! It has aggressive treads, a rubber toe bumper, and Salomon’s distinct lacing system”

La Sportiva Fireblade
La Sportiva Fireblade
“The Fireblade is a great lightweight trail running shoe”¦It drains quickly & efficiently after being soaked in creek crossings.”

Patagonia Houdini Jacket
Patagonia Houdini Jacket
“The overall slim fit of this jacket has cut down the bulk many wind layers have, which makes me look more contoured than the sack look many other jackets offer.”

Inov-8 Roclite 295
Inov-8 Roclite 295 and 320
“As far as performance, these shoes are great for walking and casual use. For running they have Fascia band-aids built into the sole. This aids in propulsion when running. The lugs on the bottom are almost boot-like. They are sticky and grab rocky trails with ease. Ankle support is typical of a lowtop shoe, so these could also be used as hikers for those who don’t need much support in the ankle area.”

Lululemon Bounce Breaker Bra
Lululemon Bounce Breaker Bra
“I like the bra an awful lot, especially the mesh panels ““ which are located in all the right spots for sweating. However, it did not break my bounce.”

Vasque Velocity VST
Vasque Velocity & VST
“To test I ran with a Velocity on one foot and a VST on the other. The VST definitely felt softer than the Velocity both fore and aft. More stone bruising protection for the forefoot in the Velocity. Overall a touch harder and more stable feel but only incrementally.”

Salomon XT Wings
Salomon XT Wings
“The Salomon XT Wings have built a shoe with both components better than any other. I started the Vermont 100 in these shoes with the plan to change out of them at 60, the other shoes stayed in the bag.”

Energizers e2 Lithium headlamp
Energizers e2 Lithium headlamp
“I tested the headlamp on several nighttime hikes this month, and it provided a bright, clear light that created a wide window of virtual daylight. I was impressed with its adequate brightness and peripheral range”

Nathan Intensity Hydration Pack
Nathan Intensity Hydration Pack
“As soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one. The wider shoulder straps were super comfortable, there was enough space for what I needed but nothing more.”

Mountain Hardwear Adaro Jacket
Mountain Hardwear Adaro Jacket
“The Adaro is, quite simply, incredible. Totally, absolutely, persistently waterproof, and nicely breathable as well.”

La Sportiva Slingshot is looking very comfortable and the stuff which is used in the shoes is very good quality. these kind of shoes are like UK online shoes or Branded shoes. these are best for running purpose.
