Way Too Cool 50K
The 2009 Way Too Cool 50K had unexpected winners on a cool and mostly sunny Saturday. Leor Pantilat, 24, from San Carlos, CA – check out his blog here – took first in a time of 3:39:51 and Caitlin Smith, 28, of Oakland, CA – her blog here – was the winner in the women division in 4:12:20. This is the first big win for Pantilat this year (he won Skyline to the Sea 50k last season) and for Smith this was the second ultra in her life, after winning Sequoia 50K earlier this month. Both Leor Pantilat and Caitlin Smith are members of the La Sportiva Mountain Running Team. Check out also the article on The Sacramento Bee where both runners talk a little bit about the race and their running background.

Complete results for the 500 runners who participated can be found here.

That was a great race. I was cheering for Leor to crack top 5, but he had a great day.

Got something to say?
