New Suunto Core Extreme Edition Red

Supplied to all the Red Bull X-Alps 2009 (a competitive event which combines paragliding and hiking) athletes, this is the newest member of the Suunto Core family. The Extreme Edition Red is an outdoor sports watch with a cool new look and filled up with all the ABC (altimeter, barometer and compass) features you can ask to an outdoor watch. The sleek and compact watch with its black and red aluminium top ring,  hides an altimeter (accurate to 29,500 feet), barometer and compass. The watch shows elevation gained and lost, and records sessions for later review and altimeter/ barometer modes switch depending on the activity and to show the most relevant information for each situation. Other functions include time, dual time, date, alarm, sports chronograph and a countdown timer. You can get a sneak peak of all the features through an interactive demo.

The Core Red won the red dot design competition in Germany last year as well as the altimeter watch tests both in German Alpin magazine and in Dutch Op Pad magazine this year.  It will be available in a limited number of 3000 individually numbered pieces starting this month.
